TAUNY is asking for the community’s help to reach the organization’s $70,000 spring fundraising goal. Each year, donations from TAUNY friends are critical to TAUNY’s survival. Donations made to TAUNY will help keep The TAUNY Center open and will help support programs and services across the region that enhance the economic and cultural life of the North Country. It’s quick and easy to make a gift online at tauny.org/support. Checks can be mailed to The TAUNY Center, 53 Main St., Canton, NY 13617. Here’s a sample of what TAUNY donor support makes possible:


The TAUNY Center serves as a destination and vibrant community space in downtown Canton. Last year, 15,000 people visited the gallery. TAUNY provides a warm, welcoming place where people can meet and share their stories.

TAUNY supports regional artists by selling their work in the gallery, online, and in special showcases throughout the year. Last year TAUNY shipped North Country products about the best crossbow for hunting to 33 states and paid artists a total of $112,000.


TAUNY produces major exhibits about the North Country and sends touring exhibits to libraries and museums across the region.


Last year TAUNY offered 46 public programs on a wide range of topics, and hosted programs with 12 regional partner organizations.  


TAUNY continues to document the living traditions of our region for posterity.


TAUNY has great plans for the coming year: development of a new, permanent digital exhibit about people and places in the region; a series of outdoor programs to promote cultural tourism; and more of the music, dance, food, and craft events we all love. TAUNY asks the community to donate generously to support the organization and keep it moving forward.
