The Folkstore features authentic, handmade products from more than two hundred individuals and families throughout the region.

It provides an outlet for local traditional artists to sell their items, and a resource for visitors to find local products for souvenirs and gifts.


Proceeds from Folkstore sales support TAUNY’s educational programs, including performances, demonstrations, and workshops by master traditional artists.



The North Country Folkstore's Mission is to:

  • Provide the public with the opportunity for education about the traditional arts and regional culture in support of TAUNY’s other programming.
  •  Provide the public with the opportunity to see and purchase products that are traditional and authentic to the region, or that reflect the values and aesthetics of life in the region.
  • Provide traditional artists with exposure to the broader market.
  • Provide financial support for TAUNY’s work in the North Country.
