TAUNY's traditional music jams are open to good-natured folks interested in gathering with North Country neighbors to play old time fiddle and folk tunes. All levels of musicians, singers, and step dancers are welcome. Toe tappin’ listeners are encouraged, although they may be handed a pair of spoons or washboard before the eve is over!
TAUNY Jams are on hiatus through the summer, but will return in the fall. If you'd like an email message when the jams return, email programs@tauny.org to be added to the jams email list. Jams will again be hosted by fiddler Gretchen Koehler and singer/guitarist Barb
Heller, host of NCPR's String
Fever.
To help all players feel welcome, we will play tunes at a variety of speeds throughout the evening. Players will be invited to pick tunes from the set list--round-robin style--and begin the tune at their speed. Sheet music, words, and chords are provided for those who would like to read along.
