ARTS EDUCATION
TAUNY’s Arts Education programs offer a series of educational workshops, residencies, and accompanying performances in traditional art forms for all ages at The TAUNY Center, schools, and other community based organizations in the North Country. These hands-on experiences in several artistic disciplines will be taught by professional educators who are experts in their respective fields. The outcomes in each program will highlight the contextual traditional subject matter (sociology, history, science, etc.) and practices in the art forms and aim to build an integrative academic and artistic learning experience. The disciplines will diversify the current traditional art featured in TAUNY’s educational programs, and further represent the demographic and cultural backgrounds of people found in the North Country. The target populations are multigenerational people with a special emphasis on reaching those who are typically underserved by arts programming.
