Fiberistas 2026 Exhibition: "Tribute to TAUNY"
Opening Reception: Saturday, March 14th, 12 p.m.
TAUNY The Fiberistas annual display for 2026 continues the celebration of TAUNY’s 40th anniversary and is entitled “Tribute to TAUNY,” featuring a series of quilts that are a testament to the TAUNY Center and traditional art forms in Northern New York. Exhibit opens on Saturday, March 7th and there is a free Opening Reception on 3/14 at 12 p.m. complete with a Q&A session with participating artists, and refreshments.
Culinary Arts Series: Bangladesh Chicken & Tumeric Rice with Shimul Zaman
Wednesday April 29th, 3-5 p.m.
 TAUNY Join TAUNY as part of our Culinary Arts workshop series for Bangladesh Mango Chicken with Tumeric Rice with Shimul Zaman. Ms. Zaman is deeply passionate about sharing the rich culinary traditions of Bangladesh with the North Country, particularly through wholesome, aromatic meals that highlight the use of fresh spices and ancestral cooking techniques. Participants will learn the step-by-step process of making the dish, hear stories about the cuisine and familial connections from Ms. Zaman, and taste this wonderful food!

A Fiddler's Point of View

The Fiddlers Point of View: A Musical Tour of Fiddle Styles with Gretchen Koehler. Pack your bags (imaginary) and join fiddler Gretchen Koehler, your musical tour guide, for a journey around the world of fiddling. The TAUNY Center.
$10 Suggested Donation
The Newberry Cafe is open from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. that day.
Traveling Exhibition: Mohawk Arts & Environmental Stewardship
Opening Reception at the Akwesasne Cultural Center - Friday, March 20th, 5 p.m.
 TAUNY’s latest exhibition “Threads of Connection: Mohwak Arts & Environmental Stewardship” is hitting the road! A celebration of the artisan work and practices of ten Akwesasne Mohawk artists, examined in the context of their interrelationships and ongoing challenges with the environment. This program is made possible with support from the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, the Coby Foundation, and SeaComm Federal Credit Union. This project is also supported by the Midatlantic Folk & Traditional Arts – Community Projects program.

Newberry Cafe Performance Series: Bangladesh Music with Shimul Zaman
Wednesday, April 1st 12:30 - 1:15 p.m.
 Join us for TAUNY’s Newberry Cafe Music Series featuring Bangladesh singing & sitar playing with artist Shimul Zaman. A disciple of the late Ustad Imrat Khan, one of the most revered sitar and surbahar maestros of our time, Ms. Zaman shares her music with the North Country during our cafe series. Free to the public.

Join TAUNY for a Creative Aging Series with teaching artist Shelli Weston for four consecutive weekends to learn Barn Quilting! $25 includes all 8 sessions. Open to all 55+
Old Time Jam Workshop

11 a.m. - Noon
Local musicians are invited to a community jam and workshop led by Gretchen Koehler at The TAUNY Center. Free and open to all players, come brush up with a series of songs selected for the event and in prepration for World Fiddling Day.

Folk Songwriting Workshop

Folk songwriter and musician Robin Dow Hopper will lead a 3 hour workshop featuring songwriting prompts and activities with the students.
