2025 Spring Appeal

Our 2025 Spring Appeal is officially underway! You can help us reach our goal of raising $30,000 this spring to bring our essential arts education, exhibits, public programs (concerts, dances, foodways) to our North Country – and support over 100 artist in our Folkstore each year!  We encourage you to become a “TAUNY Friend” ($120/year) and receive a 10% Folkstore discount, or an “Evergreen Friend” ($500/year) and enjoy a 15% Folkstore discount, all-access passes to our public programs, and more! As a sustaining contributor, you can also make an automatically recurring monthly donation. As a thank-you, you’ll be entered into our Art Prize Giveaway for a chance to win a ceramic art piece by Roxanne Locy.

Each year, Traditional Arts in Upstate New York (TAUNY) brings approximately 50 programs in arts education, exhibits, and public programs to the public. We offer workshops for all ages at The TAUNY Center, at local partner organizations, and in schools. We hold  major exhibits (fiber arts, ceramics, quilting, visual arts) and our Folkstore generates over $100,000 to over 150 artists and artisans each year. Our public programs bring hundreds of participants to enjoy authentic and inspiring traditional music, dance, and foodways, and we celebrated the grand opening of our Newberry Café. We ask that you make a generous donation so that we may continue the programs and events you rely on, and which we aim to grow:

Arts in Education
 Educational workshops and accompanying performances for youth, adults, and seniors.

Public Programs & Exhibitions
Concerts, dances, exhibitions, foodways events, field research, and archival work.

Folk Store & Newberry Cafe
Support for over 150 local artists and artisans, and our recently launched Newberry Cafe.
