Visit the North Country Wall of Fame before it closes!

Through January 18

After 25 years, we're retiring the North Country Wall of Fame, a gallery full of photos and descriptions of TAUNY's North Country Heritage Award recipients. Over the years, we’ve run out of wall space in our gallery and we're excited to introduce a new exhibit that will make better use of the extensive archival material we’ve collected associated with the Heritage Awards. The Wall of Fame will be replaced by a new interactive North Country Heritage Awards digital exhibit in 2020. See the North Country Wall of Fame one last time at The TAUNY Center before it closes on Saturday, January 18.

Canton North Country Student Art Competition

(Presented by the Student Art Display Committee in association with the Remington Arts Festival)

Saturday, January 11th to Saturday, February 1

Reception

Saturday, January 25

10:00 am-1:00 pm

This display, presented in connection with Canton’s Remington Arts Festival (which takes place in early fall), continues the celebration by featuring talented young artists’ two-dimensional, fabric (fiber art), and three-dimensional artwork by students in grades K-12. Categories include Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Fiber Art, Photography, and Miscellaneous and Multi-Student Work. This popular annual display highlights the creativity, range, and thoughtfulness of area students as they explore different artistic mediums. A reception for the public, area art teachers, and students will take place from 10:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, January 25th, and a short Awards Ceremony will follow at noon.

The sponsors of the 2020 Canton North Country Student Art Competition and Exhibit are the Haley-Nichols and Owl’s Nest Funds located with the Northern New York Community Foundation. Refreshments are donated by the Canton Area Zonta Club, with gallery and assistance provided by TAUNY.
