Cone Hat by Sally Kirby, Canton, Award of Merit

Sally began knitting as a Brownie Scout making afghan squares for World War II soldiers. She was inspired by a friend’s Swedish hat. Sally knit the hat flat, sewed up the seam, and felted it in the washing machine. The wool used was recycled from an old sweater.
