Estonian-Style Colorwork Hat by Vanessa Bittner, Winthrop, Award of Merit

Vanessa has been knitting since graduate school and was inspired by her travels to Estonia and Latvia in the 1990s and 2000s. She used a published pattern by Rebecca Harris, but changed the color combination and left the hem down to cover the ears, rather than tack it up like the pattern suggested.
