Knitted Hat Exhibit
The exhibit is now closed, but pictures of each entry can be viewed in the Photo Gallery. Click on an image to see a larger view and details about each hat.
North Country knitters have been busy creating hats for TAUNY's January exhibit. Opening at the TAUNY Gallery on Saturday, January 9, the mini exhibit is a display of the talent and creativity of area knitters.
All entries in the exhibit, which are also part of the North Country Noggins contest, are handmade, wearable, and appropriate for use in the North Country--the northern half of New York State, including the Adirondacks, 1000 Islands, Lake Champlain Basin, and Black River Valley. Original designs were encouraged as was the use of natural fibers.
Entries were judged by a team of accomplished and experienced knitters: master knitter Barbara Klemens, owner of the Yarn Shop in Canton for over 50 years; Kate Wells, a passionate knitter who has been knitting since she was a teenager; and TAUNY Board member Hallie Bond, who is also an avid needleworker.
