On Saturday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., TAUNY will offer a rare opportunity to learn a traditional Haudenosaunee—or Iroquois—art form. Caroline Bigtree of Akwesasne will lead a workshop on raised beadwork, a spectacular style of beading perfected by the Mohawk and Tuscarora women, which involves sewing several rows of tiny, translucent beads to create a three-dimensional shape. Participants will make a barrette or brooch.

The cost of the workshop, which includes all materials and instruction, is $30 for TAUNY members and $40 for non-members. For more information or to register for this intergenerational project call 315-386-4289 or email TAUNY.
