February's Featured Artist, wood sculptor Gene Newman, will be at the Folkstore this Saturday, February 20, from 1 to 3 p.m.to demonstrate and talk about his work. Click here  to see photos of Gene's work.

A Canton native, Gene has been carving wildlife sculptures from various types of North Country wood for 25 years. He works primarily in cherry, butternut, and maple; his interests in the natural world serve as his main inspiration. A multi-award-winning sculptor, Newman also spends his free time building competitive racing canoes.
