It’s almost sugaring time, and TAUNY is showcasing the North Country tradition with the winter exhibit “Sweet Beginnings: Maple Sugaring in the North Country.” The exhibit describes maple sugar production in northern New York and spotlights producers in the region who carry the tradition forward.

Among the producers spotlighted are Roger and Ann Huntley of Canton, who loaned some of their sugaring equipment for the exhibit. On Saturday, February 27, from 1 to 3 p.m, Roger and his son Dan will be at The TAUNY Center to tell stories about their family’s sugaring operation and describe the process and some of the equipment in the exhibit.

The “Sweet Beginnings” exhibit and related workshops and programs are possible thanks to underwriting support from National Grid, The UPS Store - Potsdam, Potsdam Agway, and Pinto, Mucenski, Hooper, VanHouse & Co., PC.
