TAUNY (Traditional Arts in Upstate New York) is looking for new volunteers and will offer two volunteer information sessions on Thursday, May 18 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, May 20 at 10:00 am. Community members are invited to join us at one of the information sessions to learn more about exciting opportunities to volunteer with TAUNY.

“At The TAUNY Center, no two days are the same - there is always something new, fun and exciting happening!” says TAUNY’s new Volunteer Coordinator, Maggie McKenna. Members of the community are invited to join the TAUNY staff in this dynamic experience with our new volunteer program. TAUNY is a nonprofit organization that showcases the folk culture and living traditions of the North Country, offering opportunities to experience, learn about, and reflect on issues related to life in our region. It is a cultural and economic hub in not only Canton but across the North Country, and TAUNY needs volunteer support to continue its essential work. There are a variety of different types of volunteer positions and projects to choose from and also a range of time commitments.

People interested in volunteering can contact Maggie McKenna (315-386-4289 or Maggie@tauny.org) or go directly to  tauny.org  to fill out a volunteer interest form.

The TAUNY Center is located at 53 Main Street, downtown Canton, NY.
