While the “Venerable Folks of Tug Hill” exhibit is on display at The TAUNY Center, Traditional Arts of Upstate New York (TAUNY) invites you to dive in and experience the natural life of the Tug Hill region by joining project partner, the Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust, for an evening hike exploring the Joseph A. Blake Wildlife Sanctuary in search of owls. A guest from the Thompson Park Zoo will start off the outing by introducing the group to a live owl friend. The group will then head out into the woods for a hike; please check the weather for the area and bring a flashlight, a warm jacket, and sturdy boots with good traction and/or snowshoes, depending on how much snow they've been getting! (Children's snowshoes are available upon advance request.) Hot cocoa and cookies will be served after the hike. This event is free and open to the public.

RSVP REQUIRED by contacting THTLT Community Programs Manager Lianna Lee at 315-779-2239 or tughilloutreach@nnymail.com.

This event is held at the Joseph A. Blake Wildlife Sanctuary, 31270 Middle Road, Rutland, NY. Look for the large Wildlife Sanctuary sign that is in front of the parking lot entrance.
