TAUNY Music Jams

Spring 2017 Season

First Fridays of January-May

7:00-8:30pm

Please email programs@tauny.org to be added to the jam email list.

Special thanks to Parker's Maple for sponsoring TAUNY Jams!

TAUNY's traditional music jams are open to anyone interested in gathering to play old time fiddle tunes and songs from American folk traditions. All levels of musicians, singers, and step dancers are welcome.

This season, TAUNY jams are the first Fridays of January, February, March, April, and May. If you'd like an email reminder of upcoming jams and occasionally other music and dance events, email programs@tauny.org to be added to the jams email list. Jams will again be hosted by fiddler Gretchen Koehler and singer/guitarist Barb Heller, host of NCPR's String Fever.

To help all players feel welcome, we will play tunes at a variety of speeds throughout the evening. Players will be invited to pick tunes from the set list--round-robin style--and begin the tune at their speed. Sheet music, words, and chords are provided for those who would like to read along.
