TAUNY at the VIC

Display of quilts by mathematician Mary Knapp, whose stunningly detailed quilts feature complex geometric patterns and nature prints and patterns.
Mary will also offer two workshops:

Create a Cabin:  Place it in the woods or on the water!

Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m. to 12 noon
Cost:  $40  (includes pattern and precut fabric for cabin)
Pattern and instruction will be provided for a cabin that can be further developed into a landscape setting. Learn how to prepare and use a foundation that is not torn from your block. Learn to piece with precision by using freezer paper as a guide that you do not sew through.
Supplies for students to bring: sewing machine, thread (neutrals), pins, seam ripper, scissors, rotary cutting supplies (e.g., small 12” mat and short 1” x 6” ruler)

Design and Drawing, “Lite”

Saturday, April 26, 1 to 4 p.m.
Cost:  $40 (includes all materials)
In this design class you will learn how to plan patterns, draw them for templates, and enlarge or reduce them for a completely new design that is your own. The tiles you develop can be used in a variety of mediums, in the fiber arts or as designs in clay, wood, or paint.

To register for the workshops, contact TAUNY at 315-386-4289
